Plant a Tree
Trees provide sound buffers, reduce utility bills, improve property values, prevent soil erosion, provide wildlife habitats and freshens the air! If those are not enough reasons then plant a tree for future generations. While trees grow and mature they bring years of beauty and delight to those near. With any luck your grandkids, grandkids will be enjoying the tree you plant today.
Reduce- Reuse- Recycle
Join a CSA, visit a farmers market or even better grow your own! Buying locally and growing your own is environmentally friendly since you cut out the pollution created by transporting your goods to market. www.localharvest.org is a great resource to find farms, CSA’s and farmers markets in your area.
Host an Earth Party
Invite family and friends to a celebration at the park, local beach, or even your back yard. Have a picnic featuring local or home grown produce. Use recyclable or reusable dishes and flatware. Activities could include litter pick up and nature hunt. (Give kids a list of items to hunt down in the garden, park or on the beach)
