Last week I told you all about our new product the RESCUE!® Stink Bug Trap, well this week I put the trap to the test. We have an apple tree at MasterGardening Headquarters which was showing signs of stink bug damage, sunken dark spots under the skin of the fruit. I had also spotted the smelly pests in the tree.
While the best placement of the trap would be away from the vegetables, fruit or building you are trying to protect I placed our trap in the apple tree for testing purposes. Nest week once some landscaping work is finished I will move the trap to a tree about 20 feet from the offices and garden.
Yesterday morning I set the trap up in the tree by using the included twist ties. While the instructions stated that for best results the fins should be touching foliage, I alas am not tall enough to reach that high into our large tree. Our trap hangs down below the foliage close to the trunk of the tree.
After hanging the trap I walked away and forgot about it. This morning I went back out to check the trap first thing when I arrived for work. While it’s only been one day I would have to say the trap works pretty successfully. Check out the results below!
I am really pleased so far with this trap. It was simple to set up, easy to hang, and so far highly effective. To learn more about the RESCUE!® Stink Bug Trap or to purchase visit our siteMasterGardening.com.
