It has become increasingly difficult for bumble bees to find natural habitats. The Wild On Wildlife bumble bee house is an ideal shelter and nesting site for the busy insects.
The first small compartment inside serves as a staging ground where bees will defecate and set up defenses for the main nesting cavity located at the right of the house. The right or main cavity is where queens will spend their lives.
Choose the location for the bumble bee house carefully. Place it on a brick. Do not place the bumble bee house in full sunlight. Ideally the box should warm up in the sun during the morning hours and be in the shade for the rest of the day. You should also add some bedding and pillow materials in the inside (for example: litter or wood fiber)
The hole is 1” to keep larger insects out. The roof of the bumble bee house is tin, and includes a latch to keep the house securely shut, and also allows for easy clean up. The house also includes tiny holes in the right room to allow air flow.
The bumble bee house is approximately 11½”L x 5½”W x 6”H
