We are celebrating a coworkers birthday here at MasterGardening headquarters today! In honor of his birthday I whipped up some delicous and decadent brownies.
While doing my daily blog reads I stumbled across this recipe for ‘Knock You Naked Brownies” on ThePioneerWomen.com. Ree of The Pioneer Women is an excellent cook and baker and you can always find mouthwatering photos to accompany her wonderful recipes. Ree also has pages dedicated to photography, home schooling, home & garden and more!
I knew as soon as I saw these luscious brownies that I had to make them. Ree’s description of the brownies made me determined to make them ASAP! So, off to the store I went to gather my supplies. These brownies start from a cake mix which makes for only a few ingredients however the caramel layer does take about 15 minutes to melt down over the stove.
In the end the brownies were well worth the time spent stirring caramel over the hot stove and then cooling for several hours before tasting. They are rich, chewy, chocolaty and everything you could want in a dessert.
The only changes I made from Ree’s recipe was to sub out walnuts for the pecans and I used only 50 pieces of caramel instead of 60 since that is what came in the bag I bought.
So hop over to The Pioneer Women to get the recipe and try out the fantastic brownies!
Oh, and join me in wishing Martin a very Happy Birthday!!
